We arrived in Saint Jean Pied de Port and the hour train ride from Bayonne was so beautiful. The town is from the 8th century. So charming. We find the place to check in and it is the lunch break and so while we are waiting an Aussie couple walks by, they have their shells and say hello. The man comes and checks us in, he is really nice. We fill out our forms and we get our pilgims credentials and everything. Then we go to the refugio and there is the Aussie couple! We talk to them and go through our packs. Go mail some stuff to Santiago de Compostela and then to the market. Find a poncho for Cook. Pay for our credentials and get our shells. Then go to the kitchen to Cook and talk to the wonderful woman, Jeanne, who runs the place. She doesn't get hardly any money for it but she is the sweetest lady. Then we eat and run, litterally, up to the citadel for sunset. Back to the room, we have new people in the room, a guy from Hungary, an Italian, a Belgian and two guys from Mexico. And the Aussies of course. Cook and I and Joel are the only girls. Then we all crash, big day tomorrow.

St Jean is so adorable
