When we got up, we headed for San Diego about 100 miles away. WE thought we'd do Seaworld today, get there just before lunch and then find a campground but the day just didn't pan out this way.
We've officially come full circle.
Al was feeling pretty weak all day, so we fed him icypoles.. he wasn't interested in anything else - he just wanted to sleep. So change of plans. No Seaworld today - we'll see how he feels in the morning...

So.. even with some mega travel days, you can never completely plan anything - especially when it comes to children.
We stopped along the way at the Desert View Tower.

WE started off driving in nothing but sand dunes - then the sand dunes disappeared and nothing but mountains and mountains of rocks.. It was incredible. There was a real gust of wind about too (that'll explain the many many wind turbines along the way).. HAA kept Missy steady but she was certainly swaying !

We crossed the Arizona/Californa border and got to San Diego.. we're way over the West coast now.. the weather is hot.. perfect !
We stopped at Walmart (more icypoles) and drinks for the sick boy and Charlie and I had a pedicure and I got my nails done... should be good until Hawaii now !
We found an RV Camp right on the water.
Check this little place out.. right on the water - great views, great facilities. There's a games room that would give Timezone a run for its money too.
I'm writing this at the table overlooking the water, it's really pretty here.. it would want to be.. prices start at $58 per night to $320 per night ! Now remember here folks, there's no motel room or linen supplied here.. this is the most expensive site we've stayed at. Yeah yeah.. it's all about Location, Location, Location !

Well.. Alex is is still feeling seedy.. I guess I'll catch up on some laundry and cleaning or something.. go for a stroll around the park, order some dinner.. watch some TV.. read.. hmmm.. a holiday.. interesting concept... what a great idea ! Tomorrow it's Seaworld or the San Diego Zoo.. either/either.. we're doing both, it matters not which one comes first !

So.. where did we end up today? Well.. absolutely no where.. last night around 9ish.. Charlie started the vomit thing.. and again at 10, then 11, then a few more times before midnight, a small sleep and then a few more vomits until the wee hours ! Oh joy !

So.. when morning rolled around, little Miss Charlie was exhausted.. Al woke up feeling chipper and wondered why we weren't doing Seaworld today. He managed to con some money out of me and spent some time in the games room (good to see he's feeling better... yesterday he didn't leave the couch).
He met a young boy whose parents were fishermen.. he's home schooled (OMG.. I can say with 100% conviction that this will NEVER happen to my children.. not because I don't believe in it.. but I believe in dropping the kidliwinks off to school.. I believe in 9am to 3pm.. oh good grief.. what a thought )

This boy lives on a boat and is here on the marina for a few days so Al and he hung out for the day while poor Charlie didn't leave the couch.
Tomorrow.. tomorrow.. we'll be good to go tomorrow.
Greg had the calendar out and the computer out and had to map out the plan as he's missed two days and the man needs a plan.. so he looked at the map, huffed and puffed and showed me his plan, I pretended to pay attention between pages of my book and all was good with the world..
So.. TOMORROW.. Seaworld we think !

I hope Greggy and I don't get sick next. Greg NEVER gets sick, he refuses to acknowledge illness, he's never been sick in all the years I've known him !
I caught up with some emails and the blog

Greg took the kids while I rode it out !
By all accounts, they had a great day and I was really disappointed to have missed it but the thought of spending the day walking around the zoo feeling like I was .. well.. it just wasn't going to happen ! We had spent 2 days riding out the kids being sick so we had to get a move on and get going and tick the things off the list.. so poor ole Mama Bear missed the zoo.
I slept for most of the time they were gone.. this 24-36hour thing really wipes you out.

As usual.. Greg is completely un-a-freakin-fected! I don't know how that happens ! I keep telling you the man isn't human.. he's a freak of nature !

Seaworld today. I was feeling a lot better ... I managed to sweat out whatever it was that had a hold of me yesterday!
Shamu the killer whale is the main attraction at Seaworld in San Diego. The only other Seaworld that I've been to is the one on the Gold Coast - they're on a par in my opinion.. the gardens in San Diego are a little more polished.. but apart from that..

We had a great day as it wasn't too busy. I do love the 'off' season. No queues! Bliss! Great Day.. tomorrow we're off heading to San Francisco.. hoping to get to Malibu Beach by tomorrow night.. but first it's Legoland.
