Amsterdam was such a great time. I went with Alsyon and Micaela. We met up with other students from our program. We arrived on Friday and checked into our hostal. We walked down the street to grab a Heineken at a local bar. We met some famous musicians and we found out that the bar was dedicated to them. They were about 60 years old and they bought us each a drink. They were so friendly and sweet. We went to a Pizzeria in Damm square for dinner. The food was delicious and the waiter was very friendly. He told us good places to go at night.

On Saturday, we woke up and went to the Van Gogh museum. It is the largest Van Gogh museum in the world with over 200 of his paintings. It was very crowded, but the art work was spectacular. My favorite part was the pointilism. After that, we went on a canal tour to the old harbour and all around the city. The city of Amsterdam was built on water so there are canals everywhere. We got to sit at our own table on the boat and take pictures of the sites out the window. Amsterdam was freezing, but it was sunny everyday so that was good. After the boat tour, we headed to the Heineken Experience. The actual brewery doesn´t have tours so there is a special museum just to show tourists how the beer is made. There were fun interactive games throughout the tour and we even went on a ride that showed us what it was like to be a Heineken bottle. There was a bar at the end of the tour and it was very fun. We had Chinese for dinner that night and went to party at a hostel bar called St. Christopher´s Inn. Everyone in Amsterdam was super nice and we met some funny guys from London at the bar and ended up hanging out with them all night.
On Sunday, we went to the Anne Frank museum. It was cool to be in her original house and see the places where her and her family hid from the Nazis. Her original diary was on display and I got to see the famous bookcase that opened to her hiding space. It was sad to watch the videos of people who knew her and read her story. We walked through the town after that and stopped in some shops. We went to bed early because we had to wake up at 3 am to catch our flight. We had to haul our luggage through town in the dark and catch a train at central station. It was a rough morning because as soon as I arrived in Barcelona, I had to go straight to class. Ay Carramba

Amsterdam was nothing short of amazing. It was nice to finally get out of Spain and see another part of Europe.
