Day to Remember

Second day was a rough one to start at first, because we simply really tired form the long week at school, traveling, and walking around the strip. But we somehow forced ourselves to wake up and start our day (a little bit more difficult for shruti), since she loves sleeping :). So we finally woke up around 10 and started our day by 11:30.

After eating breakfast we headed out to the strip to check out the "Secret Garden at the Mirage". Sounds mysterious eh? Well, it's more of a Zoo rather than a garden, because i didn't see any flowers. The garden includes, dolphins as well, when was the last time you went to a garden that had dolphins? Yeah didn't think so :) but this garden was different in the sense it started off with the some dolphin sighting, then heading into a garden that included tigers, lions, and leopards. Our excitement ended pretty fast, once we saw every tiger, lion, and a leopard sleeping! OHHH but we did listen a roar of a lion, that was a big scary. So we stuck around for 30 min. or so, and head out to see the action on the strip. It was a very nice and sunny day, not too cold, not too hot, just perfect.

We started to walk back to our hotel, because we wanted to go to the pool and jacuzzi to relax for a bit, and the walk can be really overwhelming. BUT WAIT! While walking back i just remembered my quest to the Paris Eiffel Tower Drink!!! So we FINALLY got to the bar that offered the drink, only to find out it was $14! but who cares i was getting a drink and a souvenir at the same time. At last i finally the drink that I was looking for the past 24 hours :)

Continuing walking, getting a little cloudy now and windy, so kind of worried about the pool of being cold. Shruti was really tired at this moment and wished she could fly there. But we were strong and on a mission to reach the pool because we didn't get a chance yesterday. So, we finally reached the hotel, quickly change and head out to the pool. Walking out was a complete nightmare, all the anticipation was ruined because it was windy and not as hot anymore :\. But i didn't care i wanted to swim! and shruti wanted to sit in a jacuzzi. I quickly took a dip in the pool swam around, went under the waterfall, and shruti quickly sat in the jacuzzi. I tried getting her to come in the pool but she wasn't budging, so i gave up and came in the jacuzzi. Just as i was about to sit in, the bubbles stopped! Sitting there with the bubbles turned off, was like sitting in a bathtub in your bathroom with hot water. We decided to get out and go to the jacuzzi inside this huge room, where the bubbles were turned on. After about half hour, i started getting sleepy and so did Shruti, so we decided to go back and rest before our big night out in Vegas. Shruti was knocked out for two hours :), I on the other hand found an opportunity to watch some sportcenter.

After the nap we decided to get up and get ready for dinner and a night out. It was shruti's birthday dinner that night and I had made reservations at this Italian restraunt which was located at (so i thought) in hotel Flamingo. So, after getting ready we walked down, and i swear hotels make you walk by the casino on purpose (evil people), before we left tropicana, i decided to gamble a little bit. I always like blackjack, because the odds of winning are 2 to 1 and the buy in was only $10. I started off with $50...lost it all! Shurti got upset, calmed her down and bought in with another $50, made the original $50 back with extra $20 :). After that i thought it was time to leave, i guess sitting there actually did pay off, we got few drinks while playing and they were free! We walk out, and amazingly it wasn't as cold as last night, so shruti was really happy because her dress was made of silk. We decided to take the cab to flamingo, because it is located on the other side of the strip, and didn't really feel like walking all the way down. The taxi cab actually wasn't all that bad, he gave us a VIP pass to this club called Tangerine!
