Our Lovely Homestay Family

We arrived in Mendoza after a bus ride across the Andes from Valparaiso, Chile.  After an unenjoyable experience in Valparaiso, we were determined not to accept any more offers of private homestay accommodation from anyone we met at the bus station.  The next thing we know, we're in a small red car, zooming away from the Mendoza town centre to the home of Alberto, Susanna and their son Willy.  Fortunately, this time, we had no regrets about our sleep deprived decision to get in their car and we spent about a week staying with this lovely family.

So, this first entry is to send a big THANK YOU to our wonderful hosts in Mendoza who showed us great deal of hospitality, kindness and generosity during our stay.  We will never forget our last night.  Alberto could not find Susanna anywhere and we had to leave for the bus station without being able to say goodbye to her.  We stood chatting with Alberto, waiting for the bus to be made ready, when suddenly Susanna appeared from out of the crowd!  She had taken a taxi all the way from home to come and say goodbye.  The funny part is, she had been at home all the time, even when were were looking for her - just up at the end of the backyard and out of earshot.  We hope you like the photos, Susanna and Albert.  Besos, Larah y Peter.
