After the good buffet breakfast at the Karri Valley restaurant we drive to Pemberton for the Glouchester tree. It was a long way up, but we enjoyed the view at the top. It can be a bit dangerous. When we were back down there was time to feat the parrots. The were so beautiful with lots of different colours!

Next on to the Walpole tree top walk. It is a bit wobbly when you walk over it (40 meters high), but it is nice to see what it looks like in the tree tops. The park around it is also well maintained. They have a visitors information center that explains about the controlled setting fire of the bush. Impressive! On to the next sight seeing point: William Bay National Park. The park is covered by a large area. We have driven around through the forest area and are know of to the coastal area with Green's Pool. Green's Pool is a sheltered natural swimming pool of clear emerald water, offering great snorkeling and scuba diving. We did not try it because it was a bit to cold. We also enjoyed the Elephant rock formations. Very large boulders in the middle of the water (peculiar). Unfortunately we were to late for the visitors center. We had to ask someone else for the directions to the Esplanade hotel. It was a bit hard to find.

You have to cross the town and get to the other site of the hill. The hotel is situated along a bay with clear blue water and white sand and special trees on the beach. The room is also very lovely and old English decorated. The hotel has a Legend bar and that is where we had diner the first night. The food was not that good. Very greasy curry chicken with rice. Eric had pasta carbonnara and that was also greasy, but tasteful. Tomorrow night is Christmas! So we made a reservation for a table for diner. We think Aussies have an Xmas lunch and no diner with family. They had a speial buffet for it. For diner there was only the usual menu. So... how do Aussies celebrate Xmas? In the evening we called my brother Marcel because it is his birthday. Hard to plan when to call with the time difference. Nobody was home. Then we phoned my mother and asked her to congratulate my brother! It was nice to hear that it was cold at home and that it was hailing. We also called Mars & Rein who are in Aussie also (we will meet soon). They enjoyed a very nice Xmas celebration in Sydney's Darling harbor. Santa arrived on waterski!?!?
