Onward we drove to a small town called Ducey. This was like ending up in a small town in Iowa-only we were in France instead. It was small, not visited by tourists, and filled with locals. Although we just spent a bit of time here, it was a fun experience and I am glad we landed here before our next adventure. The following morning we drove to the famous Mont St. Michel-an abbey that was first built in the 900’s-that is surrounded by water. As we drove towards this magical abbey-we were awestruck with the view. This abbey, is surrounded by a small town built on a hill. During high tide, this plot of land becomes surrounded by silver water. We knew the climb was going to be difficult-but all 4 of us made it to the top and were able to tour the abbey of Mont St. Michel. If you have never heard St. Michel, you have to check out our photos to see what a magnificent place this actually is.

As if this is not enough, we drove back to Rouen to drop off the rental car and then took a train to Paris. We had 1 night there-in which we climbed another 300 or so steps to Montmarte and Sacre Cour. As the sun went down, my parents were able to see the city of Paris and view this beautiful church. After this, we went down to the Eiffel Tower to view it at night-something a visitor to Paris must do.
