Bay of Pigs 1: Playa Larga

We were meant to go to Playa Giron but missed the turn off on the autopista (I've seen more sign posts on an airport runway than on roads in Cuba) and so we took the next one, and as it was getting late, settled in Playa Larga. Before this we picked up our third and final male passenger, who I didn't trust from the outset. He was a jintero, trying to get us into a casa for his commision, and also tried to get us to stay in his or his friend's home. But by this time we were pretty wise to their type and we just asked him where he wanted dropped off (as his " line" was that he lived there). So we was pretty gutted when we dropped him off and found a casa ourselves. I hope he enjoyed his 15km walk back.

I was feeling a bit ill again at this point and so we had an early night. Next day we went scuba diving at Punto Perdiz (or something like that). It was my first time and overall I thought it was ace!! It got a bit scary towards the end when water kept getting into my eyes and nose and the fact I wasn't well meant I started to feel really cold. When I came out I was shaking like someone with Parkinson's. But overall it was amazing and I'll probably do it again some time. On the way to Playa Hiron we drove along the road full of crossing crabs - truly amazing! Although we got a puncture, and picked up our furthest travelling hitch hiker...
