Saturday 12 April

Anne writing now, we drove to Dublin from Roscommon via King House in Boyle which is in Roscommon county. It was very interesting. They had a fresh food market and we bought to home made cakes which we thought were very nice. One was, the other wasn’t. Stayed in a nice hotel on the outskirts of Dublin and it snowed on the hills which was very pretty. Naturally we ate in pub for tea. Cold night but we were smug and warm. Everyone who has a computer came into our room and they played. I of course, don’t have my own computer! Very difficult to get to use one.

Sunday 13 April

Drove into Dublin and parked. We tried to find a place open for breakfast, and it was very difficult because nothing opens till 12. Ended up at Starbucks. Sue decided she and Richard should ask a taxi driver if he knew where to eat. Rob and I just stood back and watched. Finally the guy said to Sue if she was on her own he would take her home for breakfast!!!!! Richard said he may as well not have existed!! Rob and I just laughed. Of course Sue says she will still give me lessons!!!!

Then the horrible part of the day, they dragged me on a very long and useless WALK through Dublin about 2 or 3 kilometers looking for the Museum. Guess what, the dam thing didn’t open till 2 in the afternoon and we needed to be on the ferry by then. So we caught a tram back and then went in search of a pub. Went especially to The Temple Bar as it had the best scotch collection in Ireland. They had hardly any and most of what they had was not for sale. How Irish was that!!!!!

So we moved on to the BAD ASS CAFÉ which was nice, Richard had his final Murphy’s stout.

Then we drove down to the ferry and had a smooth crossing which was good for Sue as she can suffer from sea sickness. She had a couple of days in the car of not feeling to flash.

We then drove through Wales, including through Snowdonia which was the most magic country. Snow on the hills, narrow road and lakes and very old and neat villages. We really enjoyed that part of the trip. We got to Telford after about a 4 hour drive. Went to a restaurant for dinner as we were all to tired to find a pub. Service was terrible.
