Left Cleveland early on the 22nd. I had a layover in Buffalo, NY, and the train was also delayed. A little frustrating because apparently I could've got a bus to the Falls and it would've taken 30 minutes.

Anyway, I did meet my first kiwi (well the first one that I didn't already know!) so I guess Buffalo was worth it.

Finally got to Niagara around 6pm, dumped things in my hotel room and headed directly towards my first view. It was great, as expected. The US side is quite a shabby little town though, compared to its glitzy neighbour across in Ontario. However, it probably meant a cheaper hotel room, taxi etc for me so that's OK. Headed back to my room and ordered pizza for dinner.

In the morning I walked down to the Falls again (it was literally a 10 minute walk, so amazing.) I walked around to an island where there are better views, and for a small fee walked down to the base of the Bridal Veil Falls (which are smaller falls next to the American Falls.) It was a little too early in the season and there was a lot of ice around so we weren't able to go too far, but it was still good to be that close to the roaring water.

After that I walked to Rainbow Bridge, which is where you cross over to Canada. The views are truly spectacular from the Canadian side, of both the American and Horseshoe (Canadian) Falls. There was so much mist that the Canadian Falls were hard to photograph, and I got a little wet! I went up a viewing tower and the views were even better.

By now my feet were really mad at me so I called it a day, had a swim in the hotel pool, and a sauna, and ate my leftover pizza.
