Well we have gotten into our routine here at the Black Canyon City KOA, our schedule is set we think for the time we are here.  We get 6 days in a row off in a 2 week schedule, this is great as we can take a few extended trips to some places we would like to see.

We took a drive into Scottsdale, to Old Downtown Scottsdale.  It looks like a old west town, the shops were very interesting with the native jewelery and art.  We took a ride on a trolley through the area, you can get off and on at your convenience.  There are some very exclusive shopping areas here.  We had lunch in a outdoor bar, very loud music and lots of young people.  We are getting very daring with our choice of  food down here.  I am not sure what it was that we ate but it tasted great in spite of being a bid on the hot side, we must be acquiring a taste for it.

We had our 24th Anniversary on Nov. 18th. had to work.  The next day our youngest daughter was married in Cuba, we wish Victoria and Mark all our love and hope they have a very happy life together.

On Wed. Nov. 21st. we had to pack up the trailer and take it into Phoenix to a Montana dealer.  We discovered in Flagstaff that the sofa and dinette slide was not sealing properly at the top.  The dealer said we may just need hydraulic fluid, but NOT.  After adding more fluid the problem did not go away, so into Phoenix we must go.  Luckily it just needed an adjustment that was performed in a short time and we were able to bring it back home the same day.  However we also had to get a tire fixed as we pick up a nail and  had to put a plug and patch to get on the road back to the KOA.

Thurs. Nov.22nd was the U.S. Thanksgiving, we had a dinner here in the park for all the folks who are here for the winter, there was probably about 25 of us.  We had turkey cooked under a garbage can and everyone brought a dish to add to the dinner.  We had a great time and very good food and great company.

Fri. the 23rd is apparently the biggest shopping day in the U.S.  Kayanne our neighbour and I headed into the Malls to shop, Don did NOT want to fight the crowds so he stayed behind.  I guess we were late getting started cause the things Kay wanted were already gone by 9:00 AM when we arrived.  The Outlet Mall opened at midnight and most of the other stores opened at 6:00 AM.  I  picked up some Christmas lights that look like cactus with Santa hats on, very cute.

Nov. 24th. was the day for our HOCKEY GAME, the LEAFS  against the Coyotes.  We left early so we could take a walk around the arena area, it is like a little town with shops and restaurants, and we met a lot of Canadians here to see the Leafs.  The Margaritaville Bar is now open but we could not even get near the bar to get a drink, some of the tables were made of the bows of boats and had fly bridges from boats too.  The doors to the arena opened a hour before the game, so we were right there to get in early and have a walk around the arena, as you entered you were given a scratch ticket, there will be more info on the scratch ticket later.  They have a HOOTERS in the arena.  Our seats were 1 row from the top of the building, you do not want to lean forward too far.  The usherette was a very nice lady who is retired and works here part time, nice job, she gets to see the games and concerts, Andrea Bocelli is coming on the 14th. tickets run from $75.00 to $250.00, won't be seeing him.  We did have a bit of good luck at the game, we were talking to couple who were visiting Arizona for a week from Edmonton.  If you recall the "scratch ticket" , the folks from Edmonton scratched their ticket and won 2 FREE TICKETS to the hockey game on Dec. 5th.  and since they are only here a few more days they kindly gave us the tickets so we can see another game.  Canadians are very nice people.  Things are starting to look a lot like Christmas here, lights are going up and homes are starting to be decorated and parades are happening, we may take a drive to see some displays over the next few weeks.  I guess we are up to date now, so keep checking in for further updates.
