Well after 3 flights and experiencing Wednesday twice, I finally arrived in San Francisco! My hostel is just around the corner from Union Square and its lovely and warm! Having started to get a bit chilly in NZ my tan is coming back! Got up early on Thursday and hit the Visitor Centre to get a bit of a plan of action. Spent Thursday walking off my jet lag through the neigbourhoods of The Haights, North Beach and Fishermans Wharf. Went up the Coit tower to see the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time!

Friday saw me hitting the shops for the first time, wow its cheap here!!! Still on the budget though so can't replace all of my clothes just yet!! Then it was off to Alcatraz in the afternoon. It's quite a weird place, eiry as it is pretty much as it was when they closed the prison. Thankfully didn't get stuck there! Saturday was a day for wandering again, certainly burning off all the food I'm eating!!

Sunday was my 1st reall adventure. I hired a bike and cycled across the Golden Gate Bridge!! Quite windy up there but very exciting. Then I went on to Lincoln park and Golden Gate Park. 8 hours on a bike, up and down some very steep hills pretty much finished me off and boy did I hurt the next day. To get through the pain, I did a tour to the napa Valley on Monday, I drank through the fact that it hurt to sit down! It was a beautiful place, we went to 3 wineres and Sonoma Town which is a lovely place, very Spanish feeling. The wine was a bit of a let down, each winery only tasted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, my 2 least favourite wine, but I managed. The wineries themsleves were each works of art and very pretty.

Today I did a harbour cruise, it was a bit foggy, but I actually wanted to see the bridge in the fog as I had already seen it in the sunshine. Then I hit the museums and am off to the Theatre tonight!! phew!
