Beaches and Bodysurfing
From Well this is potentially the most randon trip ever planned out! It has absolutly zero plan to in Valencia, Spain on Jul 08 '07
Well, after a few hours on the train we rolled into Valencia with Crystal, Lindsay and 2 Austrian guys who need a hostel so they tagged along to see if there was room in the one we were staying at.
It took our group a little while to find the hostels due to horrible directions but after borrowing a map from a nice old couple we found our way to our hostel which was called the purple nest. The hostel is super cool and has a nice kitchen and bar aswell as cool rooms that are painted crazy colors. We got settled down and then headed down to the patio where we met a girl called Brett from Colorado. We all thought it would be nice to get some cervecas so we headed down to the grocery store which was super close to the hostel. We stocked up on beer wine and sangria, a 1 litre bottle of beer which tastes pretty good was only 60 euro cents so even if your poor like me and Adam you can drink plenty. SO we found ourselfs with 14 liters of beer for 4 of us, which really isn too shabby! Well soon the drinking was on its way and we cooked some pasta we had left over from Barcelona. We met plenty of new people and played pool and drinking games and stayed in the hostel the whole night. Adam and I even started a brand new game called edward liter hands... Its where you take the liters of beer and you Duck tape one to either hand!! It was so freaking funny cause soon we realized you cant do anything until you are done at least one liter, not even pee! Turned out to be a night filled with laughs! The next morning we headed to the beach with Crystal and Lindsay. Valencia has been the number 1 beach of the trip, its massive and is all sand. There were no rocks in sight, and the water was the same temperature as a pool. The best part about the beach was the waves, they were perfect for body surfing. If you caught a good big wave you could surf 40 feet or more. We swam for a very long time on the first day and soaked up the sun on the beach as well. After a great day we headed back to the hostel on the bus exausted. That night we drank plenty of water and cooked grilled cheese sandwiches and hotdogs. Soon our batteries were recharged and we were ready for drinking again. We had 5 litres of very horrible tasting wine but it got us “a bit” loose as well as a few beers. Again we invented another enventful drinking game that we called the three legged drinking night! This one was that you have to duct tape one of your legs to someone elses leg and try and menouver around all night with only 3 legs! So fraking funny except this time the game never really caught on and it just turned out to be Adam taped to Crystal all night and everyone laughing at then! Still a hilarious night though! We continued on with the drinking games with our new friends and some people tried going to a club a bit later. The club was not very good and by the time everyone got back they were ready for bed. The next morning Adam and I headed to the train station when we woke up to book our trains to Milan. We didnt have to wait to long to get to the counter but as soon as we got to the ticket booth we learned that the man working there did not speak a word of English. We had an intense and interesting sign language conversation and after a few minutes we had our tickets to milan. Its great how two people who can´t speak to each other can still communicate. After the train station we were ready for the beach again, this time Lindsay and Crystal didnt come since they wanted to do some shopping so me and Adam headed there alone. We started body surfing and after a while we randomly met some people from our hostel. We body surfed with them for a few hours and saw some fish that could jump like 5 feet out of the water swimming around us. Soon it was time to head back to the hostel again. When we got back to the hostel Crystal and Lindsay had cooked us some stirfry. It was definataly nice to get some real food with vegtibles again, it has been a while. We had stocked up on beer again and soon it was time to party at the hostel again. This night was a bit more relaxing since we had to catch a train the next day but it was fun nontheless. We partied pretty late and then went to bed. The day we woke up and got packed, now we are just waiting at the hostel to go to MILAN!!!
Until next time
Love Adam and Raz
