Dear All,
So tonight is our last night in Barcelona and as much I am sad to be leaving our next stop should be quite amazing in itself. But before I tell you about where we are going tomorrow, I want to tell you a bit about our time in Barcelona.
Well after having a good sleep in the overnight train (to our great surprise) we arrived in the beautiful Barcelona, and luckily enough we were approached by a guy (that later we find out was named Mario) telling us about his hostel so we didn’t have the chore of finding a bed for the next few days. So onto the metro to find the hostel, wasn’t too hard except there was a technical problem so we had to get off the metro and find another way. Well we had a bit of extra walking to do but in the end we got there. The Pension Palacio isn’t bad for a hostel, pretty clean and the staff are really friendly. The hostel is near the gothic part of town and probably the nicest part, as well as 10 mins from the beach. Though, we didn’t really head there to swim much. The beach was really busy and not the best but oh well.

So our first night here we decided to head out for a drink or two. We hadn’t really drunk for a long time so it didn’t take us long to get tipsy. It was the first time in 5 weeks that we had been drunk. We had a fun night and we luckily managed to accidentally come by a cheap bar. (Barcelona can be expensive) Unfortunately, we didn’t have the camera so there are no photos from that night. Although it wasn’t a late night, home by 2:30 we still managed to sleep half the day.
Next day was pretty uneventful, we hit the beach had a look around, walked through the water, which was quite warm. Not like St Kilda at all. That night was a movie night and bed. Sad really, considering we’re in a cool party city. However, that’s everywhere along the beach in Spain in the summer. So we will have other nights to fiesta (party).

Today we went and saw a Gaudi building, an apartment block called Casa Botllo. I thought it was really cool. The architecture for the time it was built is pretty daring. I’m not sure exactly when it was built but would have been around 1910. I’ll put a photo up for you to come to your own opinion. Apart from that today we just walked around the city and booked our accommodation until we leave Spain.
So tomorrow we leave Barcelona at 11pm to Majorca, an island next to Ibiza, which I am sure you have all heard of. Majorca is meant to be less of a party island than that of it’s neighbour. We are there for 5 nights in a cheap hotel in a little fishing village called Cala Figuera. Meant to be a lovely town and not too touristy. I think it will be nice to get away from the big cities and enjoy some quiet time.

Well that’s it for now. I’ll write soon. xo
