mmmm ribs and music

Thank god Amtrak is not like rail in Australia or Europe...We settled in for our relatively short 14hour ride from Chicago to Memphis being able to stretch out...barely touching the seat in front of us, with our own leg rest, pillow and foot rest...god I wonder what its like in first class...

We found a nice little place called the french quarter suites and after after a nice long shower we thought a swim in the hotel pool would be in order....would help if they decided 36degrees was enought to put water in the pool....oh well guess we would have to settle for beer.  Is there a theme developing at all in the USA with us and beer...not sure

Graceland.....and the king

Anyway...without a doubt memphis is one of the nicest towns I have ever been to in the US...the people are friendly...the ribs are plentyful and the beer flows like it should considering it is 38degrees <yep..the temp went up 3 degrees while writing this>.

And then there is the music...hard to descibe except to say you just have to go there.

Elvis....yep thats right...we donned the white suit and flares, slicked out hair back, grazy glued on the super long sideburns <i can imagine u all mentally picturing how on earth i could do that but i can dream> and bussed off to the mighty Graceland.  All i have to say is that he lived on one hell of a cool house. Carpet on the ceiling...shooting galleries in the back yard...golf carts and gocarts for all.  Truely the king of style..if u dont believe me look at the pics...when we finally put them up
