These mountains are used as part of the light show, they are as big if not bugger than the glasshouse mountains. What a backdrop!

We started off our a day in Yangshou with bacon, eggs, fried tomato and hash browns with Vegemite toast. It was awesome to have something other than a traditional Chinese breakfast to remind us of home!!

From here we road in and around some back tracks and dirt roads of Yangshou until we ended up at a local school that one of our guides used to teach in. We were mauled by friendly, happy kids that wanted photos and to play with us.

From here we caught a dodgy ferry across a small river to some local markets. Things here were a little crazy and one of the ladies in our group had her camera cut from her bag and stolen. It made things a little uneasy within our group, but i think it was a good reminder that we were not at home and things here were a little different....

We had lunch at a little cafe on the side of a dirt road that was on the bank of a little lagoon and it was a lovely lunch and we were all happy for it to be over so we could get back to our rooms as pretty much everyoner in our group was exausted.

After a brief afternoon siesta and a quick telephone call to our parents, we ended up for a group dinner on the rooftop of a local Yangshou restaurant where we were offered Jim Beam for the first time in over a week...... Needless to say, we bought the whole bottle.. hahaha. The view from the rooftop was amazing. Think Glasshouse Mountains, but instead of only 6 or 7. There was 50+ scattered around the horizon, very pretty. After this we went to a lightshow called "Impression" in a natural ampitheatre that has the Li river and mountains as a backdrop. This is where a famous Chinese movie director has a show that has a cast of 800 people and assorted lights on the mountains etc to produce an audio/visual feast! So very beautiful!

After this, we went to bed early as we had a free day tomorrow to use as we wished....

We are both well and having the time of our lives!

It was great to speak to our familes to let them know we are ok! Sorry for the 2am phonecall janella!! hahahaha

We will add photos to this soon....hopefully by Sunday night

Hi yo Two it was fantastic to here from you today. A great thrill to here you voice just to know you are OK. Sounds as though you are over the worst of the cycyling now, hills and all but hang in there it will be a real accomplihment to ride the whole way without assistance from the support truck. No much is happening her Pop is arriving tomorrow for his two week stay, as Uncle Lance has had an operation on his knee and Mary is not able to look after him. It will be a handful particularly because we are both so busy but we will get by. Other than that nothing much is happening. We both miss you heaps and send all our love. Keeep safe and stay well we will take again soon.
