After a 22 hour bus ride from Cusco, which included our bus sideswiping a car and a random driver hitting our driver over the head with a stick (white shirts really soak up the blood), and then later seeing a bus ahead of ours overturned on a sand dune, we arrived in Lima for a bit of r and r before hoping on another overnight bus to Piura. We had 8 hours to kill, so went to a shopping centre!!!

This shopping centre is in the upmarket area of Lima, and it might as well have been in another country. Posh families sipped cappuccinos overlooking the Pacific Ocean whilst paragliders passed overhead.

Being us, we went to the movies, and I had my final Inca Cola. Have I mentioned Inca Cola yet? Forget Machu Picchu. Inca Cola is perhaps the greatest Peruvian contribution to society. It doesn’t actually taste anything like cola, more like bubble gum. And the colour… well, I’ll let the photo speak for itself.

Hey Nathan & Emma, George & I are finding your travel blogs very entertaining and informative: ) Apparently Inca Cola I've heard is derived from maize(corn)it reminds me of pineapple soda, I'm not sure if you got to try seviche-that is the ultimate. Anyways sounds like you explorers are having a blast:)
