Walking.......
From 6 Months around the world 07/08 in Hong Kong, China on Aug 13 '07
After an express transfer in Singapore we arrived in Hong Kong at midnight. We hadn't organised any transport to our hotel and were hot and tired but decided on the hotel shuttle bus. Lucilky we were the first stop off, checked in and went to bed. Steve you would love the beds, very very firm! Today we've walked and walked and walked, non stop almost for about 6 hours!(I'm wearing thongs!) It's pretty foggy today so not much in the way of views but we headed to the harbour and took a ferry across to the Island and walked some more....... up hill! Hopefully Justin has learnt to ignore the street venders.....today he's been followed down the street discussing tailor made suits, had his face read, then asked for money (we had none so now we have bad luck for life!) and taken a prayer card from a "buddhist monk" and asked for money again, meanwhile I'm forging ahead and only stop if he needs rescuing. We're back at the hotel now, will have a swim and rest because Hong Kong has only really woken up now and is busy into the night, tomorrow we will sleep in and be prepared because nothing really opens before 11.30am and lunch time is crazy. At exactly 1 pm every single business person leaves the offices together to eat until 2pm when they go back to work. We had a crispy creme donut for our lunch!!!! Hopefully I can have something a little more traditional tonight. We're heading to the Temple street night markets tonight so that's all for now. L&J
