I have just arrived back in Bangkok after leaving my home for the last week or so, Koh Tao. I survived the boat and bus journey as i had Simon join me as he was returning to Holland after two months there. Koh Tao seems to have that hold over people...you go for a few days and end up staying longer!
On my last few days on the island my new buddy, Jenny and I had our last fun dives together. They were excellent as always... we saw rays, moray eels, nudibranchs (my favourite - they are little multicoloured slugs which shimmy through the water) and had a little encounter wth Trevor the trigger fish. Apparently he is well known by the Koh Tao divers for being extremely protective over his nest site! Our instructor Perry made a very quick exit with Jenny and I quickly following! I can't believe that the trigger fish is the scariest sea creature in Koh Tao - it is so small compared to the sharks! Even though it is the right time of year I unfortunately didn't see any whale sharks - knowing my luck in a few days I will get some excited emails from the guys in Koh Tao telling me all about there amazing encounter!

On my last day Jenny and I hired a quad bike to explore the island. The boys wouldn't let us hire a motorbike...i don't think they trusted us! We were able to look around the island and go to some of the beaches we had seen from the dive boat. It was sooo much fun! A few of us watched the sunset together over Sari Beach before returning to Budda View for farewell drinks. Slightly too much Tiger Beer has been consumed over the last week or so...I am looking forward to a rest!
