Delhi was hectic and draining, as much as it was an interesting place to live and work.  We decided that we needed to get out and experience other parts of India, which lead us to Bangalore.

From the minute we stepped off the plane, we felt a huge relief! It was hard to believe that this was still India. The major difference was the weather, Bangalore has a temperature that is very pleasing 8 months of the year it’s about 24 degrees, lots of wind and the air seemed much less polluted (notice I didn’t say clean!) Excellent weather, Nice greenery, Tall Trees, and hilly roads.  Bangalore is the IT capital, it is where the major companies have set up shop, here you find Microsoft, Cisco, all the top dogs, which have transformed this village into an upcoming hot spot in India.  It is vibrant, with lots of expats, young people and cool places to go. We were invited to a party where a famous DJ was playing, u would have forgot that you were in India, the music was great, beautiful people, aside from some questionable dancers…Bangalore nightlife was pretty good!
Our house in Bangalore came with the same amenities, personal house boy, cook and driver…god I can really get used to a life like this! The house was beautiful with great interior, right across from the lake and a huge park.  Bangalore was definitely our favorite city.

Next stop was Mumbai, home of Bollywood.  Well, the madness started all over again, Mumbai was similar to Delhi, but much more congested.  The population is almost 13 million, so you can imagine. Mumbai is a city of extreames. There are areas of much wealth, as well as areas with poverty like you can’t imagine. However, overall experience was good. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, great food, many things to do, and many friendly people. The city is comparable to NYC, it’s got the hustle and bustle, the traffic, it is the financial capital.  I am glad we were only here for 3 days.  We were staying in Juhu Beach which is a popular bollywood hangout, it’s a suburb where many of the stars live.  The hotel JW Marriott was unbelievable and there were some star sightings, we just didn’t know who they were!!

We were only in Mumbai for a couple of days an have now moved to Hyderabad, another city in South India. This will be our last stop before heading to Bangkok!
India has been an eye opening experience.  We are very lucky to have traveled to this vast country, where there are such contrasts, from the rich and the poor, to the people, food and cultures…it’s been an amazing journey.  Starting October 1st, we will be in Thailand, we are very excited.  Ry and I will be living in Bangkok, then traveling to Singapore and Malaysia until December.  From there Ry will be returning home for Christmas and I’m off to Australia and Abu Dhabi, then back to Canada for February.  Looking forward to sending more updates.
