Flew in from LA after security checks. They checked all bags, laptop & the works. I can tell you, they don't mess around. The security check guy could not be more serious.

Landed in Vancouver in the middle of the night, with just one hour to catch the connection to Toronto. Vancouver airport is undergoing reconstruction and we almost had to walk the full length of the airport to reach the domestic departure gates. We made it to our Toronto connection with only minutes to spare. Security at Vancouver was much more relaxed than LA.

After a 4 hr 30mins flight with Air Canada, we arrived in Toronto at 6.40am with our body clocks out of phase. Michel was there at the airport to pick us up. We went through Toronto to Woodstock where we met Debbie (Michel's partner) & the family). The little one, Tyneisha is very much like her sister Annabelle. At first shy, but later on as cheeky as you can get.

Woodstock is a very welcoming and quiet small town where everybody still knows each other. Population about 38,000.

After a lot of chit chat, meeting with the boys Ryan & Cory and Chelsea, Debbie cooked us a good barbecue dinner. By that time Tyneisha (our grand daughter that we're seeing for the first time) was back in her top talking machine mode.

My body clock was then not so good for me as it did not know whether it was wake up time or sleep time. However, both Madeleine & myself had a real good night sleep.

The houses in Woodstock have very slopey roofs to ward off against snow built up in winter time. On Thursday, we visited London a town 30 mins from Woodstock-population 358,000). The shopping centres are very similar to those in Australia. Not many Chinese food supply stores-we visited two that were Korean. Madeleine is cooking fried rice tonight (Thursday) & tomorrow we'll be going to Niagara Falls. Debbie just sent Michel with a shopping list for a picnic lunch tomorrow.

You'll have a coverage of Niagara Falls tomorrow.

Hi Boum and Madeleine, Thanks for sharing your travel blog with me. I was away for a week, after retiring from my job on August 10. Just went to a beach town on the coast of California called Pismo Beach (4 hours north-west of L.A.) I think I drove through L.A. at the time you were there! That was on August 12. I am hoping to visit Melbourne in 2009 with Chin (Senior Olympics in Sydney.) Have fun, Bernard
