Started my journey to Melboune Cup With a stop in Albury, NSW. While I was there I had brunch at the Expresso Cafe on Dean St in Albury. The I headed off to see the view from Monument Hill and had a short walk around the pretty, small, Albury Botanic Gardens. Then it was off to Noreuil Park to hop on the PSS Cumberoona Paddle Steamer for a leisurely ride down the Murray River. It was a beautiful day for it and very relaxing.
The next stop was a small town in Victoria called Beechworth. I had heard great things about the bakery there! So wanted to check it out and also learn more about the bushranger Ned Kelly. Beechworth is a beautifully kept old country town. The downtown area is beautiful and its strange to see modern cars parked by the old buildings! While in Beechworth I stopped at the Visitor Center, The Burke Museum, Beechworth cemetery where they have old Chinese Burning Towers, where the Chinese burnt offerings for the dead, and the Beechworth Historic Court House, where Ned Kelly was held and tried. Of course I stopped at the Beechworth Bakery for a death by chocolate...and I think it almost was!

After Beechworth I took a short drive around the countryside and then was on my way to Melbourne. Found my way easily this time and got to the hostel in the evening.
