Pivnica Medvedgrad Samoborska

Mum decided that she would like to take us all out for dinner somewhere as a kind of last dinner together/thank-you for her stay in Croatia.

We decided on this place that we always drive passed on our way to visit Anas parents in Novaki called "Pivnica Medvedgrad". Its a chain of "beerhall" restaurants where food is very meaty and its known for its large portions. http://www.pivnica-medvedgrad.hr/pivnica_samoborska-eng.html

Give Medvedgrad Pivnica a miss next time

One thing you need to understand about Croatia, non-smokers are in the minority. Everywhere you go you can be guaranteed a thick haze of smoke floating above the room at eyes/ears & throat level. This place was no different however thank goodness, due to the heat, all patrons decided to be sitting outside and we were 1 of 2 tables left alone inside.

The food ended up being so-so and priced above what it should have been. It was disappointing only because we know we could have gotten better elsewhere but it didnt prevent us from having a good time and moving on to a nicer place up the road to have coffee and conversation at.
