The King of Leon

So the title of this actually has a double meaning.

Firstly, as I started walking today, I put in my MP3 player to listen to whilst walking. (After 17days, I really wish I´d put more than 24 tracks on it!) I was listening to The Kings of Leon´s new song ´Fans´ as I walked over the crest of a hill and got my first glance of the city of Leon! (Well I saw the irony of it and had a giggle!)

It was so good after eating cigarette-smoked-tapas for two weeks!

Secondly, I had a dream the night before that I would get Burger King for lunch the next day, despite having only seen ONE American fast food outlet in the entire country so far! Guess what, wandering around the city trying to find the cathedral, out jumps a Burger King! The Burger King of Leon! (I swear it´s a gift or talent I have!) Now I didn´t want to interfere with fate and I felt that if I sucked my gut in enough, it looked like I´d lost some weight, so I was able to justify it too. It was so good after eating cigarette-smoked-tapas for two weeks!

The Cathedral in Leon was amazing. Possibly even more so than Burgos! Not quite as much gold but it was so tall inside, at least 30-40m high before the columns started to curve to form an arch! And it looked like half of all that height was used for stained glass windows! One after another, it made the place look awesome in the afternoon light!

Now I only intended on walking 20-27kms that day, depending on how tired I was. Imagine my surprise when I end up walking a total 41km that day. (Ever happen to you?) Oops! The down side was that I didn´t check in until 9pm and by the time I had a shower and cooked dinner (I even cooked it al dente!) the computer was turned off at the hostel. So thats why this is a day late. Sorry!
