Back in Bangkok and not expecting any problems.  Ready for a smooth couple of days, some Christmas shopping, preparations for returning back to the states and "good bye's" to my friend Tommy.

Wrong.  Problems and a "good bye" that didn't quite go as planned.  Let me just sum it up by saying that it pays off to learn a bit of Thai and it definitely pays to meet a nice cop, drink some whisky, strike up a friendship and say "hello" to this cop everytime that you are in Bangkok just passing through.

Thankfully I made nice with a policeman back in October.

Three hours were spent trying to get our luggage out of storage.  Chris and Bateman were so kind to drop of a bag of goods for us in November (thanks) and well, now we were having quite the time trying to get our belongings and taking them home with us.  Without too much detail, I'll give you the highlights.

Passports being passed around like a photo of Paris Hilton.  Raised voices.  Exorbanent fees requested and declined by yours truly.  Demanding of records from November.  Me rifling through records that are written in Thai and praying that Chris and Justine used their real names and real passports.  Printing out emails dated from November as proof.  Men telling me that they would get the police involved (which is usually never a good thing in a foreign country).  My lighbulb turning on and demanding that they call my friend Tommy (as in the Jeans).  Jaws dropping as they realize that I have an "in" with the force.  Tommy entering the scene and clearing it all up.  Bags returned.  Resulting in embarrassment bc I had to abuse my friendship with Tommy.  Beers.  The friendship remains intact.  Off to LA.

Bateman, Chrissy... do you see?  Just as I commented the third week in Thailand... everyone that we meet ends up coming together full circle in the end.  Who knew that whisky with one Tommy Dambruhah would pay off three months later?
