down hill biking down the most dangerous road in the world was a must for La Paz. now for you who might be a bit taken back it was given this title due to the deaths (mainly because of the bolivian drivers as apose to the road). fortunately for us the new road down to coroico was completed in november removing all but most of the vehicles on the road.

to assess our competence on our bikes we had 22km of tarmac before we hit the gravel. unfortunately the truth came out and that infact the ride is not totally downhill. infact we had to climb for about 8km... not soo fun at 4000m,

so in total the journey starts at 4200m RL and we end up near 1000m RL, close to the start of the amazon jungle, that means over 62km we drop over 3000m Rl Which allows for boys to go really really fast....luckley we had double suspension bikes which meant our arse was too bad the next day.

with our tour with gravity assisted bikes ended with a hot shower and lunch at coroico, this was lovely as it was also an animal santuary so after lunch we got to play with all the baby animals that had been rescued, even a baby onix only  10 months old. then there was this monkey that just loved attention.

a good excuse not to go over the edge
