We started our day by touring Paris by bus.  We also visited Versailles and Notre Dame.  Truly amazing to see the work that went into creating these two locations.  Elaborate, ornate craftsmanship.  You could repeatedly hear the boys say, "Wow!" every time they turned the corner.  We took a break in the mid afternoon to sit and people watch at a cafe next to Notre Dame.   I had a delicious crepe with Grand Marniaise and sugar.  Soft and chewy right from the grill.  Absolutely delicious! The kids had "European" hot cocoa and loved it.  Bryce claims it is the best he has ever had.  We concluded our day by having dinner at an outdoor cafe.  Incidentally, we ran into several People to People groups throughout the day.  We experienced French pizza which the group loved..  A very thin, almost  "wafer-like" crust ham.  On our way home we took the Metro (Paris subway) and then connected to RER (railroad).  We ended up getting lost when the train passed right by our exit.  After two failed attempts to get back to our hotel (we thought the train was headed all the way back).  We backtracked and made it home.  One very hilarious moment was when we tried to pass our tickets through the reader at the station and we found out that the ticket wouldn't allow us to go back where we came from.  At this point we were tired and frustrated so we jumped under the turnstiles to get to the train.  The kids thought this was cool, but you should have seen the four of us adults trying to squeeze under gracefully.  It was a site.   We all realized we weren't as nimble as we used to be.  Tomorrow we are headed to our next overnight stay in the Loire Valley.

Hi Wade & Bryce: Glad you are having a wonderful time. I will pit Irish drivers against the French any day. Think about what you are experiencing and do it from the other side of the road. However, the Irish are driving SUVs, trucks and buses in addition to the little tiny cars. I'm enjoying your journal and will help Grandma get signed up today so she can read your blogs and e-mail you. You wouldn't recognize The Ranch. We have a college student working for us and he has mowed down all of the vegetation in front with a weed eater/brush cutter and lawn mower. We are working hard getting everything done this summer so come visit when you have the chance. We want to hear all about your trip and see your pictures. Love Auntie Barb
