On the 10th of September Josh and I ventured out of Tagaytay without the parental units to see the Mall of Asia. It's located in Manila which is about an hour or two away getting there depending on the traffic. The mall has a specialty store for EVERYTHING! They even have kiosks that sell beer by the pint! There's an iceskating rink, an imax, and more than 700 stores. If you are looking for a good value I would not suggest going to the mall of Asia. They had a Forever 21 there and I was curious so I went in. To my dismay a dress that I had seen in a U.S. mall for $18.00 was a whopping $60.00. Suck ass. And anyone who has ever gone into a Forever 21 in the states knows that it's not exactly a high end store. We ate at a restaurant called "Burgoo" I think they specialized in American food but Josh ordered fajitas and beer and I ordered a margarita! Our driver Lito ordered a pizza. The fajitas were good but I didn't trust the sour cream. Josh on the other hand dove right in... I was the one who suffered from his decision about an hour later if you catch my DRIFT. The beer by the pint cost him a whole dollar and the margarita cost me a little under two. I loved it. It was very potent.
In the mall Josh was approached by a group of 14 year old girls who asked him if he had a girlfriend. What can I say, my husbands got IT. Hahaha. Gross. The sales people were very nice and the mall was very clean. There where a lot of people walking around but come to think of it not very many of them were carrying shopping bags... I don't know if it was because things were overpriced or because they were just in the mall too be in air conditioning because it was HOT outside and very humid. We probably only passed 300 stores but that was enough for Josh and he was ready to go home in about 2 hours. I didn't mind though because I''m planning on going back with my grandma in October to watch the VON TRAPP CONCERT. It's a concert put on by the grandchildren of members of the original Von Trapp Family, the family that "The Sound of Music" was based on. Sounds lame but to be honest with you I'm kind of looking forward to it=) I'll let you know how that goes.
On Sunday my parents took us to Imus to go to this church that holds the "Miraculous Santo Nino" For those of you who don't know what a Santo Nino is, it's a baby Jesus. He's a pretty big deal over here. My dad says that when my mom had to undergo surgery on her spinal column a year ago the doctors also found a bone that was unaligned that they had to fix too.Well, he was out here and he prayed for her at that church ... he flew to Florida and touched my moms back.. when my mom went into surgery the doctors said they couldn't find the misaligned bone anymore. They think that Santo Nino helped. Who knows? So on Sunday my dad wanted me and Josh to see this Santo Nino so we went with them to church and we were lucky enough to also get to see a baptismal and a wedidng take place. I though it was awesome that we had the opportunity to witness such special occasions in another country.

This week Josh and I really haven't done too much except wake up, have breakfast, go for our morning walk, eat lunch, walk to the gym, work out, shoot around , have dinner and then watch television and play poker with my parents and one of the maids. Life is very slow and we are just appreciating the scenery. I love our walks around the subdivision because there is so much to see. There are a thousand different plants and different kinds of animals walking around.. even the snails look different here. I'll have to take a picture and show you sometime....

I looked through my parents boxes in their garage and found my library of curious and unusal facts... we've been reading those a lot in our down time and just learning everything that we feel like learning because we have the time to do so.
Oh yeah, before I forget, the sushi out here is to die for and it's cheap to boot! It's only about two dollars for a dozen pieces and 60 cents for a bowl of miso soup. There are a couple of pictures of Josh, Mom, Dad, Gin Gin and Me at a resaurant about 5 minutes away from my parents house called Kitaro. It's views of Taal Lake are breath taking. After we left Kitaro there was a cool mime outside and Josh refused to take pictures with it (this is Josh and yes, I hate mimes).. I couldn't resist a good mime photo op. He was a gangsta mime.

Starbucks out here also has a good view... the prices are kind of weird. A tall cup of coffee is about two dollars which is more expensive than in the states but a grands raspberry white mocha is only about $2.50. Any of my former starbuckies know that that is a steal. It seems like with anywhere Starbucks is the place to be on the weekends and a place to relax on the weekdays.
Well... After I'm through blogging Josh and I are going to go on a date, I think we're going to try this pizza place that's called Cafe Lupe. they are supposed to have pizza that is to die for. Afterwards we're going to check out the nightlife here in Tagaytay... hopefully its "poppin" hahaha... I really can't get away with saying stuff like that.. not even in my own head. Till next time! God bless and take care!
