After a pretty sleep-deprived trip on the boat, I decided that some more R&R was needed! I dragged my ever-heavy pack back onto the bus and headed 4 hours up the coach to Townsville, where from there I took the ferry to magnetic Island. Lo and behold, who was waiting to board the ferry back to the mainland, the Parentals! Quick beer with them and headed off to my hostel. This consisted of mini bungalow huts on a Koala Sanctuary. I spent 2 days exploring the island and topping up my tan (I'm not really on holiday!!). The Island itself is covered in rainforest and big bugs!! Saw some huge toads and some pretty pre-historic size bats, did scream like a complete girl quite a few times :-)
