15 hours later we arrive in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. After a quick check into our hotel Mandala House we just had time to shower before heading off on a chosen activity. We chose to go Elephant riding, not sure if it was the best choice of the day, but with a chance to feed them and get slobbed over what could be better. After a very hot and dirty few hours we arrive back with 15 minutes to spare before heading off into the hills to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep Temple which is 1.2km in height above Chiang Mai city, you haven't seen Chiang Mai until you visit this temple, it was absolutely beautiful and very peacefull, we got to sit in with the Monks when they were doing their chanting. The view down to the city would be spectacular if it wasn't for all of the pollution from the burning. From here we were dropped in down town at the night bazaar which is just hundreds of market stalls which sold alot of handy crafts and everything else you could imagine, we ate with some of the group where the food was fantastic and just so cheap around $4 nzd and the local beer Chang which costs around $1-$2nzd per bottle. Our restaurant took a liking to us, and gave us a laten which they lit for good luck etc and let it off into the night sky. Leaving Chiang Mai on the 05 April, not long enough here will have to come back. We are heading to the border of Laos.
