Having survived Nyepi and avoiding trouble with any Nyepi cops, we fuelled up on the great breakfast at Ari's, before getting on the scooter again. We stopped by Goa Lawah (the bat cave, we resisted any bat-gags this bat-time). The temple is really small but we still had to fork out a "donation" for the guide, after paying the entrance fee (Rp5000?). There were hundreds of bats in the cave mouth and we were told that the cave extended back 50m, with bats covering the walls.

From there it was basically straight to Denpasar's bus terminal (Ubung). We did stop for the best satay at a market in Sukawati. Delicious but fiery enough to make Adrienne's eyes water.

At Ubung we sorted out a tourist bus to Probolinggo in Java for Rp80,000pp including a free meal, from Santosa bus company. Initially we were told Rp120,000 from all the operators.  The bus left at 7pm, so we caned off to Hanna's place to drop off the scooter and grab our bags. With no transport, and since the bemos stop at 4pm, it meant a Rp53,000 taxi ride to Ubung from Seminak. We got to the bus about 1.5 hours early but decided to settle in for the 8 hour journey.

The trip was pretty uneventful. We arrived at the ferry terminal in Gilimanuk and exited the bus for the ride to Java. It takes about half an hour, but most of that is waiting in the middle of the strait for a free berth. Our free meal was served to us at about 1am, and was buffet style with noodles, rice, veges and crackers. We managed a few winks of sleep, but it wasn't the quietest or most comfortable bus we had been on.
