The next morning we awoke anchored off the shore of Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas. We got out of bed and hit the breakfast buffet of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, toast and pancakes.

After breakfast we got ready to go to the island. Half Moon Cay is a private island in the Bahamas owned by Holland America, which is somehow related to Carnival. We arrived on the island a little early for our glass bottom boat tour so we did the logical thing to do which was go to the bar, get a pina colada and walk around the beach for a bit. The scenery was great.

The glass bottom boat ride was about an hour long and they took you out a little ways in a boat with a glass bottom so you could see the coral and some of the fish without getting wet. It was nothing spectacular but it was definitely worth the $30 if you don’t have the opportunity to go snorkeling.

After the boat ride we went back to the beach to relax and have some more frozen drinks for a few hours before returning to the ship.

When we arrived back on the boat we went to the poolside bar and hung out with Starr, a woman from New York. Of course I couldn’t resist bringing up the Yankmees… I mean the Yankees. Too bad the Sox were 8 games behind them and they swept us in Boston… OUCH! It’s a little hard to talk trash when that happens. (Thanks Kerry)

Later on we went to Gatsby’s to see our favorite bartender, Katerina, before we watched the Fourth amigo sing NY, NY and finally called it a night.
