Life in Natimuk

Natimuk is 10 minutes away from Arapiles. It's a small town with small town characteristics.  There's a pub, hotel, and climbing shop near where we are staying and all within walking distance. The only downside is internet. why is wireless internet so hard to find?  the hotel boasts internet at $2 a half hour. If you have a wireless adapter, you can pick up a signal somewhere across the street. i'm not sure who owns the signal but i use it almost every day i can get away to it. :)

This town used to be situated in an area that was considered the wet lands for the region. there are at least 6 or 7 lakes (huge lakes, like 415 hectreacres) that have all since gone dry.  :(  the area is now seeing it's worst drought ever, hence the water conservation tactics used in the town. we are hoping that all of the bad weather that had been following us in the states followed us here...not to impose on our climbing, but to help the townspeople and the region that is so desperate for rain.
