The land of nothingness
From Amyn & Yaz's Travel Journal - Welcome in Jakarta, Indonesia on Jan 13 '07
We decided to spend a couple of nights in Jakarta to check it out before moving on from Indonesia. We needn't have bothered. The city is unusual, but not in a good sense. There's skyscrapers and a main city district, but where you would expect to see shops and restaurants, there was nothing, just the entrances to the offices themselves. We spent two days literally walking around trying to find something to see! We did however come across an impressive mosque and took a guided tour. We also witnessed about a million police in the main square preparing for a visit from some high ranking diplomat.
Other than that, there's little more to say about Jakarta...
