Mind the black cows

Bens bike was ready at 18:00 hrs, and we were ready to kick off! I did a small test ride with the engineer on the back of the back in front of the dealer store. We drove up and down the (one way) street.... 1 min later we met a friendly Mexican policeman.... being very determined to take my bike into the station as I had violated the Mexican traffic laws by driving the wrong way... It took some extra time of the local dealer and 100 pesos weekend money to get rid of the police officer...

So finally ready to ride. As it was already dark, the local dealer warned us to watch out for the black cows on the roads. "You don't see them, untill you have hit one", was a warning enough to have a slow ride back to La Paz. We acted as tail stickers to other cars, having the cars act as bull bars, which worked perfectly.

Had a late night dinner in La Paz, drank a few beers and went off to sleep.

Hi, I plan to drive down to cabo san lucas with my other 5 friends in a rental van from SF. I'm now kinda worried now after reading couple websites about the road condition and dangerious things that might happen while we driving down there in Mexico. So, I just want to ask for some advise from you about how to drive down there safely within 20 hrs. How bout the gas station availability, robbers, animals, road rules? THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!
