a hectic and bad few days i guess, i will miss out the bad parts, there are too many good parts!

i went out for a meal with alejandro and his family to pizza hut, stuffed myself, and spent a spooky night in the house (the electricity cut out) with no lights and no fan (meaning plenty of mosquitos), with a LOUD storm going on outside, my candle flickering spookily in the wind.

the next day i had been looking forward to for a long time! i went to meet jandro's grandparents who i'd heard about for ages and was dying to meet. his granddad is lovely and, well, granddadish! quiet but still there and smiling. his grandma adopted me straight away, fed me until i couldn't move, and showed me family photos, and gave me a little sombrero! very cute. then we went to the musem of anthropology and had some beers. i decided i needed to move, so yasser came to pick me up and i went to stay at his house for a while.

muchas cerveza... and it was needed!

ever had your heart broken thousands of miles away from home? it stinks.

so the next day, yasser being lovelorn aswell, we headed to the beach to drink lots of beer, swing in hammocks, and burst into song every now and then. ever seen the wedding singer? the song he sings about his ex fiance is a theme tune of ours, the rest of my stay we broken into song whenever we saw each other. we watched the sun set, then drove back to the city in the dark, with a good 10 beers in each of us, dodging cows and the like. ate some pupusas (of course!) and then picked up yasser's cousin and his friend and we went to la luna to watch.... guns n roses! a tribute band i mean though, but bloody fantastic. i then got taken out to two 'underground' bars (me and yasser were still on only 4 hours sleep), and eventually went back to sleep.

the next day woke up to hammering rain, had sunday lunch with yasser's family (i was being fed tequila sunrises, and this was at 11am) and then drove to pick up alfredo and isis, and a friend, and went to suchitoto, a gorgeous little spanish colonial style town in the countryside overlooking a lake. was lovely to spend a cool sunny sunday afternoon just ambling around the cobbled streets, taking pictures and watching the families in the square, kids playing with wooden tops. back to the city to eat a pizza with an entire farm on, and maybe half the ocean (eeeek!) and i decided to have a beer free night (gasp!)
