Avignon is gorgeous, a must for any France trip. It is in the heart of Prevence and has a rich history dating back to the 10th century. It is home to a palace that was built by the roman catholic to store the popes in when they were in trouble. Many popes spent the majority of the Papacies (Funny word) in this place.
Today the morning began with an e-mail from Audi of Richmond. The bill for the repair on my car has gone from an estimated $2,000 to $18,000. They need to replace the engine. Legal action!

I was depressed all day, still am, will be even more depressed when I get home. We still managed to tour the “Palais de Papes” and the rest of the city. We did a little shopping and booked tickets to Barcelona for the next day.
We met a nice Ausi couple and had Tapas and Chinese food with them. We haven’t had much chance to make friends on this trip yet, we don’t stay in any one place long enough!
Still depressed.
