June 16- We got up early at the Amargosa Opera House and headed straight for Zion Nat'l Park, arrived late afternoon and campgrounds were full in Zion. We didn't make reservations. I think only 1 of 3 campgrounds there allows you to book in advance. We "camped" at Quality Inn (offers tent and RV camping and motel w/pool) near the entrance of Zion. See review if interested in reading about my lamest camping experience.

June 17- we got up bright and early again and drove thru Zion after dealing with weirdos in a local coffeeshop who sold us crappy overpriced coffee and didn't give us all our change back.

The Zion drive was so incredibly beautiful, totally worth the $20 entrance fee even if all you do is drive thru. We stopped for photos of the spectacular views. Then we drove thru Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations. This was the most beautiful day for driving. Also drove by the north side of Grand Canyon- destination: Adam's place in Albuquerque, NM.
