We wanted to get away from the Christmas hassle in the UK, and as Lyn already had 10 days booked, I joined her.
We stayed half board in a hotel in Port El Kantaoui, next to a lovely sandy beach, with a 20 minute walk to the harbour where you could pass away the morning or afternoon enjoying coffee and watching the locals and tourists.

Our main plan was to think out our European travel, but we didn't really get round to it much. We were too busy having a quiet, restful, recouperation with pleasant surroundings, food and company. This is where we met Carlton, who turned out to be such a gentleman (calls me Ma'am and bows most graciously, though I'm not sure he's serious!).
We sailed off on camels and horseback one afternoon, except that Lyn didn't take to horses much - her first experience, and all she could do was scream. Mind you, when she went to get up on the camel it decided to stand up before she was seated, and there she was again, screaming for help. I was beside myself laughing, but obviously tried to encourage her to hang on, and it was OK, cos the guide was there!
