It was quite a relief to arrive in Miami, where we expected everyone to understand us. This was bnot always the case, but they did have menus we understood, sunshine and beaches.

We eventually found our hotel, and after 5 minutes moved rooms cause of the large presence of bugs in ours! Hotel was in a cool location with a pool, so generally we were happy. We headed down to Ocean Drive to admire the views and stopped for a cocktail and some food. As usual in America, none of us finished our meals - the portions were huge! We headed back to the hostel and got ready to go out. I had decided to only go for a few drinks so I had another dodgy cocktail and then went home. The others went onto a club where you had to impress the bouncers before they'd let you in (Bet they wished they'd taken me then!)

The next day Mike and Patrice spent haum-ngover on the beach, which they later lived to regret! I on the other habnd had some business to take care of, but joined them later. That evening, Mike and Patrice headed out for food, meanwhile, I had the fright of my luife, when the largest cockroach ever ran across the boy's ceiling. Nice.

We ate our pizza (in the girl's room), and headed to bed. The next day was Mike's birthday, so we woke him with chocolate brownies, candles and a very tuneful song! headed to the shops and then the airport for Quito.
