Let me start by saying

Congrats to Liz and George!!

Happy (be-lated)Birthday Kristina!!!

Hello All!!!

So, We finally made it back to Europe!! After the last entry there was a whole big deal with our flight back to Casablana. All we wanted was to get back to nice, clean, and organized Morroco(?!) and Stupid Rayal Air Moroc canceled our monday morning flight and booked us on a Tuesday afternoon flight. So, basically that meant that we got to spend so more quality time in Dakar. This actually turned out to be a good thing. We had to go to the dreaded downtown Darkar and pick up our tickets at the office there. While down there we went to lunch, walked around, and went to a good museum...it turns out that Dakar was not that bad. But it was really nice to get the hell out...

So, we get on the plane that left late...Africa Time, and we were surrounded by freaks. The whole ramidan thing turns people into crazies. We felt soo bad for the flight attendents. If only they knew how easy it is for attendents on American airliners! We got to Morroco! The next day we got to Tangier, the ferry port to get back to Europe. We arrived at about 5.30 and checked into a hotel($8, total). We went outside to take a walk (just after sunset)and everything was closed and there were no people on the streets...I mean nothing going on!! Then, just after about 7pm, people started coming out and shops were opening...the shole city shut down for the hour or so after sunset to eat(and smoke)! It was crazy but I guess if I couldn't eat all day for Ramidan then I would take that time to eat in private too. Then the next day, we headed to Spain. There was a huge storm so we got to wait for 5 hours for the ferry service to get going but we finally go there!! Ahhh, Spain!

We were in Granada and it was great!!! We saw the Alhambra. This is a fortress of palaces and forts that was built by the muslims starting in the 12th century. You would think that we would be bored with the muslim architecture after spending so much time in Morroco, but this place was awesome!!! We also got to be rained on!! That was not so awesome. But I guess that we are in Europe in November. So, that means that Jer and I get to put on almost all of our non-beach clothes and still freeze! But it is still better then Senegal!!

After Granada, we headed to Portugal. Now we are in this great little town in the south called Tavira. It is a fishing port with cool little streets and a river running out to the beach. Tavira is a great place to walk and get back into the European mode! A place where people talk to you with out ending the conversation by asking for money!! Nice!!!

Well, we hope that all is well with everyone! Talk to ya Later!

love, Jer and Sarah
