I'm here!

So I've finally made it here! We came in on the train, and took a taxi to our hotel, which we found out later was right next to the train station. Oh well. It would have been hard to walk anyways. Every taxi driver or anyone who picked up my big suitcase told me how heavy it was.
So after we got settled, we took a bus to my dorm, which is really pretty. It's this old building with a little cemetary in the front yard I think, and it's just cool. Very old world. We then walked to the big shopping center, and bought all of my kitchen stuff and other things that I needed. I'm going to have to borrow a lot from people though I think. Even though I brought all that stuff, I see these freshman coming with waaay more things, and I'm like hmmm, I wonder if I'll need that. But I guess I'll just have to go and get things if I need them.

So yesterday I sent my mom home, which was sad, because now I really am on my own. I came back and unpacked a little, but spent most of my time getting internet access and then catching up. They had people who came early meet last night, so I went and met some people, and they seemed nice.
All day today I've just been unpacking things. I'm very slow at it, and took multiple breaks, but everything is unpacked. I even washed my dishes and put them all away. I still need to decorate, but I thought I'd do this first. I think the hardest thing here is going to be cooking for myself. Not only do I have to actually cook things, but I have to deal with the fact that I have a shelf of a fridge for my stuff. I think I'm going to have to make little grocery store shops a lot, but oh well. It's close. It's weird, because there are some international Asian students who've been here, and they seem to make the best meals for themselves. This one girl today had rice and a bunch of chicken drumsticks in some sauce, and I was like how did you do that! So I might not eat a lot at first, but hopefully I'll get used to it. I had what I thought at the store were equivalent to Honey Bunches of Oats, but these things were monstrous. The clusters were as big as my mouth.

I haven't really met people from my floor yet. Everyone seems to just be doing their own thing right now and settling in, but I think I'll be able to meet them tonight. Hopefully there's some good people! I'm with all girls, and I'm pretty sure they're all freshmen, but hopefully they're all nice.
I'll post pictures of my room when it's all decorated!
