Spent five days in Lima.
Visited the temple of Pachacamac. The most important inca temple on the coast. It was a ruined temple, which was interesting but we didnt have a guide and there were only 3 information signs so it was diffcult to work out what the buildings used to be.
Flying Dog Backpackers highly recommended
Also visited the Museo de la nacion which was a history of Peru from the earliest civilisations through to the Inca´s there were many pottery and jewellery exhibits as well as a tomb of a dignitry which had been recreated. It was very interesting and is a little out of central Lima.

The hostel has been great, didn´t really want to do too much here in Lima. The hostel is in the suburb of Miraflores which is really nice and safe and on the beach. The hostel is quiet at the moment so there has never been more than three of us in the four bed room dorm and it is usually just the two of us. There is a lounge with free internet, and book swap and the staff introduce all the new people to you and it has been really easy to make friends and go out with them.
Today one of the guys that works in the hostel took us to a restaurant for lunch. For 8 pounds i had a beautiful fish with onions, tomato and a sauce and the others had huge portions of Ceviche a local dish with raw fish cooked for 3 mins in lemon, it was delicious. Then snook off to another place for dessert, profiteroles yummy! I also a saw my first ever hummingbird in someones garden!!
