The best part about July was Emily coming to see me and the best part of August was sharing some adventures with my childhood friend Kim...
And now an excerpt from my Guest Writer for this Episode of the Adventures of Sara...KIM (brackets by Sara, it is an Editors perrogative..hee hee)
I told her to wear the free rain jacket but she refused to look like a giant condom like the rest of us on top of the double decker, her second purchase was an umbrella...

I am the first to admit I make a very bad passenger, (I will definately confirm that statement) first on a plane, then on a train and finally with Ricky Racecar Driver herself (it was the roads, the roads I tell you). It was absolutely fabulous to read Sara´s journals from the safety of my own home but to actually experience them first hand is an all together different story.
Meeting Sara s smiling face at Heathrow Airport in London was the start of my first trip to Europe. We took the "tube" to our Hotel in Paddington, close to Notting Hill (however, no Hugh Grant in sight...PITY). Seeing that Sara couldnt find George in Lake Como, I figured Hugh would have to do!

The Hotel Mina was our spot for two nights, if only I could brush my teeth without spitting on my hand was my only complaint, never seen a sink so small! And of ya it was extremely hot no air but I didnt complain (not so sure I can confirm that statement), I merely smiled (plenty of that) and felt very happy to experience just a smidgeon of Saras trip. But then there was all the hair appliances I had brought with me that didnt work despite my adapter purchase. I looked at Sara with deperation, me not being too vain but certaintly one with unruly hair without flat iron and blow dryer abuse. Needless to say my first purchase in London was a British hair dryer. I was once again elated.

It was time to visit my first pub....London was fabulous from Buckingham Palace and the changing of the guards, to climbing the stairs (way, way, way up) at St. Paul’s Cathedral (Charles & Diana got married there), to the Tower of London (with a fabulously funny Beefeater tour guide). We crammed alot into the 2 days we were there. Favourite spot...definitely Harrods, the Food Market was out of this world. Took the Big Bus Tour, sat upstairs in the double decker bus....oh did I mention, in the typical London weather....soaked to the skin (I told her to wear the free rain jacket but she refused to look like a giant condom like the rest of us on top of the double decker, her second purchase was an umbrella...) but it was a great time, so much to see in so little time. Loved our lunch at Harvey Nichols, feeling very posh, sipping Champagne...IT IS ALL ABOUT THE DRINKS and of course...THE FOOD. Went to see a play with Juliette Lewis, former Brad Pitt flame, before Angelina, Jennifer or Gwyneth, Fool for Love (I was a fool for buying the tickets, it sucked, but Kim was too kind to say...good eye candy though in the male actor, an Aussie I believe) in the staring role, Sara fell in love (love is a strong word, but I did rent the binolculars for 50 p) with the male character, very yummy indeed.
