The Beginning.
That's an Indian Mound!
After long goodbyes and hectic packing we journey forth into the unknown around 8:30 AM this morning.

Adam started his six hour shift first.
We started out mostly sleeping, but were awoken by dead man’s curve in Cleveland, OH. We drove through the pouring rain until we got to Avon Lake, where Dani lives. We went to their brand new Best Buy, which was some odd mutation of corporate science. We stopped so I could return the map program I bought yesterday. We traded it in and got the DeLorme Street Atlas GPS 2006…. And I don’t think we could regret it. This thing can tell us where the nearest Wal-Mart is; or where all the gas stations within a certain mile radius are. I have been sitting here for the last hour watching our little triangle move along I-90 / I-80. It is awesome what technology can do. It’s a whole kind of “It’s a great big beautiful tomorrow” experience. The GPS map system is telling us that it will take us 28 more hours to get to Durango, Co. We hope that is wrong… I am thinking that the mountains of Colorado are what will be slowing us down.

So far we have dug into the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and Steve has decided that tuna in his meal of choice, which presents an odd stench as we drive. We have decided that the Ohio Turnpike is the worst turnpike ever constructed. Welcome to the Midwest.
Quote of the moment, via a bumper sticker on a truck “There is nothing sweeter, then sucking a fat man’s peter”
We are posting this via a wireless network we found at the "Birds Nest Hotel" Pictures and more about the trip thus far to come.
