Royal Caribbean Invades Tallinn!

After several peaceful days in Tallinn, I was shocked to find the city center swarming with tour groups today. The groups are being led by perky tour guides carrying numbered paddles, all sporting the Royal Caribbean logo. The highest number I've seen is 36. Can there really be 36 groups from the same company in this town on the same day??? \r

Then I spotted the ship. Actually 'ship' doesn't quite describe the mammoth hulk tied up in Tallinn's harbor. 'Floating skyscraper' is more like it. Now I understand where all the tourists came from. Apparently, it pulled in early this morning and the passengers are all taking day tours of the city before departing for their next port on the whistlestop tour of the Baltic. The numbers on the tour leaders' paddles (and on the buses and the nifty little stickers the tourists have on their shirts) help keep all the tour groups separate as they swarm through the town.\r

Luckily, all the tourists seem to be worldly, cultured, sophisticated, discreet travellers. ;-)\r
