Again I’m supplementing the last issue because \it went out before I was finished. You may have noticed a -30- symbol at the end of my journal entries. That is the universal journalism notation for "the end" or "finished." If you get a travel journal without that symbol, you will know that it went out before I could finalize it or correct it for mistakes. I don’t even know if everyone on the list gets it because I have not designated the "send to all" button.
It was a beautiful day for the flower market and strolling through Vondel Park.

Having said that I want to welcome some new people to our travel adventures. Saturday, August 12, we all visited Teeuwis and Tiny in Ridderkerk. Tiny is Ralph’s cousin. The daughter of his father’s sister..They were more gracious than we could have ever imagined. Teeuwis stood outside waiting for us and leaped into the cab to negotiate the fare. We were not to pay for anything (those of you who know Teeuwis, know he can be a bit insistent on this subject.)
We especially enjoyed that both daughters came over with their families, (Rolien brought her son Richard and Romiri came with her husband.. They brought Grandpa and Grandma new holiday pictures of their boys. (If I have those names wrong or misspelled, I apologize and will print a correction when I get the proper spelling.)

They had coffee and delicious sandwiches for us ~anything we wanted, of course. We looked at pictures and talked of the old times. We went for a ride to look at the 19 windmills of Kinderdijk. For more info on this remarkable site go to http://www.stichting-kinderdijk.nl
Unfortunately, the bad weather kept any of us from getting a good picture. The Vonks couldn't’t have been kinder or more friendly to us and we will always remember our day. Thank you again.

We had just one day left in Amsterdam with the girls and got a bonus on the weather. It was a beautiful day for the flower market and strolling through Vondel Park. It was a treat for Ralph and me to be able to share our trip like this and it felt strange to get on the train Monday morning without Bonnie and Barbi. They had a long but safe trip home and I’m certain they have many stories of their own to tell. Give them a call!
We had a short day and a half stop in Hamburg (to do laundry) on our way to Copenhagen where we are now. We’re about to go down for dinner and a good sleep before seeing how the Danes do it. Love to all.

Hey, did you see our new photo of ourselves? These are the people to look out for when you're traveling.
One more thing for those of you who are Michael Connelly fans. He's a writer who's character Harry Bosch is named after a 17th century Dutch painter. We found some of Heiromonyous Bosch's paintings in the Boijmans Van Beuningen museum in Rotterdam. Just thought you'd be interested.
