Glasgow is not the nicest city and there is really not much to do here.  I took a train from edinburgh and got to the city after supper, found my hostel and it was very nice, but in a bit of a sketchy location.  It was a university residence where I had my own room, which was very clean.  My biggest issue with Glasgow was that there was nothing to do.  The only thing that Glasgow had a lot of was shopping.  The first night I got there I did laundry and read the sunday paper.  The next day i took in the sights of the city: Glasgow cathedral, St Mungo Museum of Religous Life and Art, the Peoples Palace, and the Scotland Street School Museum where some of the places I visited.  The Scotland Street School Museum was probably my favorite, more people should go here because it is not as visited as it could be.  The best museum though has to be the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum you have to take a short train ride to get here but the vast and varied collections were well worth the effort I had a great time here.

The next day I took a bus to stirling so I could visit Stirling Castle.  Stirling itself is a nice little city and the castle is great.  The castle is on the outskirts of the city but you can walk there from the bus station.  The admission fee was a bit much but the castle was worth it.  It is quite a large castle with several restored buildings, and great views of the surrounding country side.  I spent the morning poking around and then had lunch at Mcdonalds ( I know ) and then headed back to Glasgow to pack up and get to the airport.

I love that their subway is called the clock work orange.

The only reason i was In glasgow was because i had found a really cheap flight from glasgow airport to paris, but my flight was leaving at 7 in the morning.  The airport I was flying from is quite far outside of glasgow and I had to take a train for about half an hour to get there.  In order to make my flight I had to go to the airport the night before because there were no trains running early enough on the day of my flight.

So I packed up my stuff and around 9:00 I headed to the airport.  Sleeping at airports is something I have done a few times before so it doesn't really bother me and this airport was an awesome place to stay.  It is very tiny and the night I stayed there it wasn't that crowded although there were about forty other people spending the night.  There is an upstairs waiting area with a bunch of pretty comfortable chairs which is relatively quiet but I found an even better place to spend the night.  The airport had a small chapel room where the lights were off and there was plenty of room to make yourself at home and so I did and it wasn't as bad as some of the hostels I've slept in.

In the morning I had coffee and then boarded my plane, leaving Scotland behind.  Hopefully some day I'll be back, I would love to walk the west highland way some day.
