We arrived in Miami on Tues, April 2nd after a great week in Oklahoma. It was hard to say goodbye to our pets, Josey and Indie, and of course Elizabeth's mom, Susan, but at the same time we were excited to be heading to Florida and the rest of Elizabeth's family!

Elizabeth's family was thrilled to have us particularly her sisters, Chelsea and Alexis. They kept up busy to say the least. Elizabeth shopped with Chelsea while Alexis and I caught tadpoles at the lake. Friday night Elizabeth's brother and family arrived. The house was crowded to say the least... 9 of us sharing one bathroom! Luckily Elizabeth is a great motivator and she had everyone's time in the shower down to the minute! She should have joined the military lol.

Saturday we visited with Elizabeth's cousin and her family and then headed to her grandmother's house. We met Frank, (Elizabeth's brother) and family there then headed to Grandma's favorite Cuban restaurant. The food was great... the music not so great. Their takeout driver was the musician, he had an old keyboard/drum machine and played rather loud Latin music. Needless to say we were happy when he had a delivery, unfortunately all his deliveries were across the street!

Sunday was Jarrett's baptism, which is where we had the picture taken below. The church and the ceremony were beautiful and Spanish! The priest did his best to translate the service to us but since most of our group speak only passing Spanish, if any, we just smiled and nodded our heads along with the rest of the congregation. Sunday night was the big party for Frank jr. and Sharon's birthdays (E's father and stepmother). It was titled a century celebration since together this year, their combined ages will equal 100... I'm not going to tell you their ages though :). The Entire Ramos family turned out for the event and those Latin ladies can dance... ok so can the guys, but who cares right??

As you might gather, it was a busy week, but wait, there's more!

Monday morning we went to South Beach for a little R and R. Spring break was over for the locals so we had to beach mostly to ourselves. Don't ask me how but we wound up on the topless beach! Darn! That evening, we were 'lucky' enough to score Marlins' opening day tickets... ok, lucky isn't the word to use since only 23,000 showed up. It was an interesting game to say the least! First off, no programs were issued for opening day (strike one); next, with the Marlins trailing 3-0, an appearant game tying homer was waved off so the fans decided to throw their souvenir magnet schedules on the field. They make lovely frisbees btw (strike two); finally, the concessions ran out of hotdogs! That would do it for me! (yer outta there!). Final score 10-2 Expos... we left in the sixth inning.

Last but certainly not least, we had Chelsea's Confirmation on Tuesday night. Elizabeth was her sponser. It was a nice service and the priests seem to be in touch with their congregation... keep your comments to yourself please, I mean it! Chelsea brought up the offerings and kept all the other candidates in line! She knew her stuff. Congratulations again Chels! Next stop L.A.
