After one night in the Winter GH we decided to move closer into town and took a tuk-tuk to the Center Market area.  We found good rooms at a place called 'Heart of Angkor Guest House'for USD13 per night which wasn't too bad.

After spending the day resting we decided to buy a 3 day pass to see the Angkor temples which costs USD40 pp and booked a tuk-tuk for USD10 per day.

The temples are the most amazing place.  Angkor Wat was our first stop and after much excitement we weren't disappointed.  The view from the causeway was incredible and just like the postcards show it.

We also visited other temples around Angkor including Bayon and our favourite Ta Prohm also known as the Jungle Temple.  The trees have basically started to eat away at the temple and it looks amazing.  The temple has just about been left exactly how it was discovered with only minimal maintenance to stop the whole thing falling down.

On day 2 we decided to spend the morning visiting the floating village which was about 10km away from Siem Reap.

The boat ride cost us USD15 each but for that we had the boat to ourselves.  The boat takes you up the river to the take and you can see all the boats where the villagers live.  They conduct there daily lives from the river so we saw various boats including hospital, barbers, 2 schools, restaurants, shops etc.

We saw children as young as 5 years old driving their own boats - amazing.  The boats which are in the lake were in the process of moving into the river as this is the start of the wet season and the waters rise too much and its unsafe.
